At the end of last year, I photographed the beautiful wedding of Bukelwa to Peter at Idle Winds, just north of Jo’burg. Bukelwa is from the Eastern Cape and Peter is from Zimbabwe and they now live in London. They decided to come to South Africa to celebrate their union with friends and family, and what a celebration it turned out to be! Thankfully the rain stayed away just long enough, but regardless, nothing was going to stop the party from carrying on into the night.
Although having been married for quite a while, they hadn’t had a big party to celebrate with all their special friends. This was an opportunity for Bukelwa to don her beautiful white dress and be walked down the aisle by her dad. The ceremony was set outside in a courtyard garden of Idle Winds where the couple reaffirmed their vows in front of their loved ones. The ample gardens provided a wonderful setting for such a happy occasion.
With the purple and yellow colour scheme, the hall was decorated with simple but elegant features and once the official business was over, the focus was on the dance floor where DJ Clyde kept the party going and the shoes moving. The hall was abuzz with motion and festivity and it really showed me what a celebration is meant to look like!
Congratulations to the happy couple. Your love was overwhelmingly apparent and I really enjoyed being able to capture the memories of your special day.
I loved this part of the day – the bridal party did a dance as they walked into the reception followed by the bride and groom. It was such a great way to start the reception off with a bang.
