Marc and Sharons wedding has to be one of my favourites to date. When they asked me to photograph their wedding I was so excited – they were getting married in the Kruger Park. I grew up going on holiday to the Kruger Park with my family and it is the most beautiful piece of earth – mother nature in its finest form. Sharon and Marc were so relaxed they were having a holiday with their closest friends and family and they were getting married (the best reason for a celebration). The day before the wedding it was pouring with rain but on the Saturday it was the most perfect day – blue and sunny skies.
Sharon got ready at one of the guest houses and Mopani while Marc got ready at a chalet close by. Sharon looked so elegant in her dress embelished with a lace bolero halter neck detail while Marc sported a “muscle” cut shirt and navy superga’s.
The ceremony was held at Mooiplaats picnic site overlooking the Letaba river where an Elephant came down to have a drink and stayed the whole afternoon. The reception was held under the acacia trees under the stars in the post picturesque setting. The lack of electricity allowed candle light to illuminate the area with hurrican lamps adding to the African atmosphere. It truly was a remarkable celebration – one I will never forget.
