It’s funny how life works – at primary school I had incredible friends who I am still very friendly and last weekend I had the opportunity of photographing my friends sisters wedding. It was really special being able to see everyone again and capture Becky’s special day. When I met Becky and Curtis to chat about their day – I walked away feeling like this wedding wasn’t about the white dress but more about celebrating family and friends and the start of their marriage.
They got married in the forest at the bottom of the Casalinga property. The ceremony was filled with incredible symbolism – including “warming the rings” which involved all the guests holding onto a rope and forming a circle and passing the rings along the rope allowing the love of all the guests to transfer into the rings – it was beautiful.
We did the couple photos in the forest and in the enormous vegetable garden that is run by Leafy Greens Cafe – they are a vegan cafe and they grow all their produce on site – it was so inspiring to see and taste all the fresh produce – a garden and photographers dream 🙂
When Curtis and Becky walked into the reception they lit two candles and the guests lit all the candles (in glass jars collected from family and friends) from their candles illuminating the area – magical. Becky’s brother Michael is part of a band called Go Barefoot who play amazing music which added to the ambience of the
day. They wanted a special dinner with family and friends reminiscing and sharing memories. A perfect day – thank you for allowing me to share in it with you.
