Personal – SNOW | Johannesburg

Boots in Snow, Snow Garden, Johannesburg Snow 7 August 2012, Snow Flakes, South Africa Snow

Today I felt like an 8 year old – running around in the snow – loving life! I have never seen snow before and the lovely white stuff that came from the sky just made me so excited. I was at The Village and the kids were having as much fun as I was. I never thought I would see this quantity of snow in JHB ever!!! Here are some photos from the beautiful (yet Freezing) day today. This little girl was so excited to see the snow – look at her gloves (that’s what a hurry she was in) She couldn’t decide if she was happy or scared about...

Event – Ali & Reece Engagement Party | Illovo

Johannesburg Engagement Photographer, Pimento Restaurant Illovo, Johannesburg Event Photographer, South African Event Photographer, Johannesburg Engagement Photo, Ali and Reece

Alison and Reece got engaged in Turkey while on holiday (how romantic <3) when they returned they had a very intimate and special night with their family and friends at Pimento, Illovo. This quaint little restaurant was the perfect place for a relaxed and fun Engagement Party. The pizzas were overflowing out of the kitchen and Ali had prepared a very scrumptious cake and sweet table filled with hand made decedant cupcakes and the most amazing tasting Cake Pops. To top the evening off their were two incredible musicians who played and sang beautifully – I adored their music, they really helped create the perfect atmosphere for a great party....

Wedding – River Place | Hartbeespoort

River Place Hartbeespoort, River Wedding Venue, Johannesburg Wedding Photographer, Nelspruit Wedding Photographer, South African Wedding Photographer, Natural Outdoor wedding photo Johannesburg, Muldersdrift wedding photographer

A while back I 2nd shot with the lovely Elandre at River Place in Hartbeespoort. This venue is on the banks of the Hennops River which made for a lovely outdoor wedding for Edmund and Delaine. There were great little details including a spectacular cheese cake that a family member made for them, a green Jeep which brought the bride to the ceremony and fun gumboots. I thoroughly enjoy the day and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Thanks Elandre 🙂 I loved this part of the ceremony – the parents and grandparents blessed the couples rings individually. Edmund wrote, played and sang a song to his new...

Personal – Reflections in the Park | Delta Park

Yesterday Ross and I went for a walk in Delta Park (in case you haven’t noticed – I LOVE that park!) It was a beautiful evening – not a breath of wind. The lack of wind made beautiful reflections in the river. I found it quite funny how nature makes man made monstrosity’s looks pretty. Some of the photos hurt my brain as you don’t know which way is up?!   The mist as the sun goes down and the temperature drops...

Personal – Constitutional Court | Johannesburg

Things to do, Johannesburg, Art Museum, Interesting Things, History, South Africa, Photos

Another really amazing thing to do in Johannesburg. Near city centre is Constitutional Hill where the old prison used to be in the Apartheid era, however it has now been converted into offices and the Court has had a facelift. The Constitutional Court is an incredible building in itself however inside this building is a phenomenal art collection of predominantly South African artists work. Its is so amazing to hear the stories associated with each piece from the famous Blue Dress to the Zapiro Cartoons. The tour of this art collection and beautiful building is for Free. Please go visit it and see the talent that our country has to offer....

Personal – Chalkboard Cafe | Johannesburg

To me, all beer tastes the same, “like beer”, but apparently there is quite a lot to appreciate and many different ways of making our national drink. In an effort to promote the microbrewery industry of Johannesburg, a cafe-come-pub in the Jo’burg city centre has started a hunt for the best “unknown” beer in the area. The Chalkboard Cafe in Fox Street has a lot to offer – It’s a vibey venue in an area gaining in popularity, with its neighbours being the Pata-Pata restaurant, the Bioscope and the weekly Arts on Main and Market on Main. On the eve of Human Rights Day, Chalkboard Cafe hosted round 1 of...

Couple – Richard and Bridget | Parkhurst

This last weekend, inspired by Valentines Day, we did a couple shoot in the suburb of Parkhurst in Johannesburg. Johannesburg has such an energy and atmosphere that cannot be matched by any other city in South Africa. This beautiful couple are very special friends of mine and we had lots of fun walking the streets of Parkhurst (even though some people thought we were crazy being so dressed up on a Sunday and posing in the streets – but thank you Bridge and Rich for making this shoot so enjoyable for me!...

Couple – Tim and Gemma | St. Johns

These two special people are high school sweet hearts and are getting married in November. They met at St.Johns in Houghton and so thats where we went for the shoot <3. St. Johns is a beautiful old school that is fill of stone clad walls, archways and lots of quads and gorgeous old trees. As beautiful as the school is this couple trumps it, they are full of fun and laughter and most of all admiration for each other. I loved doing this shoot....
