Today we had an amazing day – we went to the Cherry Festival in Fiksburg – I have to be honest I was disappointed in the festival. I was hoping there would be more cherry products like Cherry Tarts etc – there was Cherry liquer and Cherry Sauce but that was about it – there were more cheap Chinese nonsense than anything else. On our way home we stopped at two really nice places – the first one was the Rose House where we had a really scrumptious lunch. It has a lovely view of the mountains. We then went to Meiringskloof to see the Holkraans Cave. This was super...

Burnside Restaurant. Craighall Park, Craighall, Photo, Johannesburg Restaurant, Photographer, South Africa, Lifestyle, Unique

Today I went to photograph a beautiful restaurant in Craighall Johannesburg – Burnside. It is a beautiful restaurant run by a brother and sister. It has a warm inviting feel and a beautiful patio where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while you sit and eat the yummiest cheesecake or scrumptious breakfast. Definitely worth a visit....

Rain, Johannesburg, Garden, Storm, South Africa, Highveld, Photo

Today I was at work when suddenly the sky went black, I am so scared of hail after the horrific hail storm that hit JHB a couple of weeks ago. I had accidently left my husbands car outside when I went to work and I really didn’t want it to get damaged by any hail. So I raced home and just in time too – we had a MASSIVE storm – our flat got hit by lightning 3 times and there was hail and rain and wind – very scary. I am super glad I got home in time.  ...

Chainsaw, Tree Cutting, Wooden Rings, Tree cross section, photo, Johannesburg Photographer

I cannot believe that it is November already! Wow its crazy how time flies. Today while I was at the Village the tree fellers arrived to cut down the trees that fell down in the hail storm – click here to see the trees that fell over. The boys were so fascinated with the chainsaw and watched the whole afternoon. Another one of the boys got very upset when he woke up from his afternoon nap to see men cutting up the trees, he said they weren’t allowed to hurt the trees. Cutest thing. When I looked at the cross section of the trunk of the tree – with lots...

Butternut Jack o lantern, vampire, Carving, Halloween, Cheaper options, Fun Cute Carving

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Seeing as though today is Halloween I wanted to carve a Jack-o-lantern. However the shop owners seem to see the need to charge R80 for a pumpkin – I could not justify paying that price for a pumpkin so I decided to use a (cheaper) butternut instead to carve a Jacko Lantern. This is my first ever attempt (its a lot harder than it looks) and I am really chuffed with my vampire butternut....
