Johannesburg in late October early November is a beautiful place especially if you have a birds eye view of it – the bright green trees with splatters of purple Jacarandas in between make for a beautiful view. Abigail and Deans wedding was blessed with perfect weather and this magnificent view. This wedding was full of love and emotion – we had to chase people away while Abs was getting dressed because the tears were flowing and we didn’t want to ruin the makeup. They got married on Saturday in the Parkview Presbyterian church – an old church of worldly charm with stain glass windows allowing light to pour in.
We did the photos in a street down the road from the church that was lined with large blooming purple Jacarandas,. I absolutely adored the nautical theme that they chose – it was so clean and simple and effective and made for gorgeous accessories like Abigail’s crab necklace and the bridesmaids rings and earrings. I was in love with everything about this wedding including their vintage navy and cream car from 1955.
The reception was breath taking as we watched the sun sets over Johannesburg the guests mingled and listened to beautiful live music. Dean and Abigail had organised Chinese lanterns to light and release into the night sky – they are not so easy to light and ensure they don’t burn but they make for beautiful photographs and to top it all off the guests danced up a storm and were treated to blue velvet wedding cake.
Thank you to Abs and Dean for a wonderful day filled with love, beautiful details and lots of fun.
