Event – Glenfiddich Lunch |De Grendel

A few weeks ago De Grendel Wine Estate played host to an intimate and wonderful lunch honouring and showcasing Glenfiddich Whiskey. Their beautiful restaurant served food made and paired with 12 year old and 18 year old Glenfiddich Whiskey. The guests were flown in with helicopters – beating the large storm that nearly blew Cape Town away – the guests were able to witness the beauty of Cape Town from above. The food was exquisite and Loren serenaded all the guests with the most beautiful singing. Thank you to Venessa from Expose for organising such a beautiful and wonderful event....

Family – Tinky Turns One

One of the many reasons I love my job so much is that some clients become friends and welcome you into their family with open arms. This little princess I have known since she was still in Larissa’s tummy 🙂 I met her when she was a few days old and again before she had her cut off and now I was able to capture her first birthday party at home. What a blessing. Tinky you are the most beautiful little girl who is a ray of sunshine 🙂...

Event – Tashmika Naming Ceremony

I met these lovely parents when I did their maternity photoshoot in the forest and I was so excited to meet this beautiful baby girl. I was asked to capture a special ceremony where they reveal the name of their daughter and bless her. No one knew her name until this event – it was a wonderful gathering of family and friends who came together to bless this gorgeous princess. Her name was revealed – Tashmika. It is a beautiful name and Larissa and Mooshen your little girl is too beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this special occasion....

A beautiful celebration held at their home in Hurlingham celebrating the 60th celebration of a wonderful woman, wife, mother and grandmother. Event – Barista Jam Cramers Coffee | Joburg

Barista pouring frothy milk

On Friday night Ross and I went off to Cramers Coffee to join their Barista Jam (an event they held for the Joburg City Festival). Cramers Coffee is a great little coffee shop based just off Harisson street in town. Judging by their location these guys must be super busy in the mornings with all the bankers and workers getting their caffeine fix in the morning. Before the battle of the Baristas started the owner of Cramers was helping his 5 year old son make a coffee. It was the most precious thing watching a dad and son operate a “machine” together. What was even better was the joy on...

Event – Easter Shoot | Lovilee

Burlap Easter Ideas, Rustic, Decor, Easter, Johannesburg, Photographer

I was so excited to work with Kari from the Lovilee Blog. I advertise with her and when she asked me to help her photograph their Easter shoot I jumped at the opportunity as I knew there would be gorgeous decor and details. I was definitely not disappointed. Kari had set up a beautiful pallet table in the forest with lots of gorgeous items from Rumours of Ribbon, Match set love and MJ’s Cupcakes . My favourite item were the burlap birds 🙂 Thank you Kari for allowing me to capture this beautiful festive table. We then set up a childrens table – how gorgeous are the little eggs hats...

Personal – Skydive | Carltonville

Lifestyle, Event, Photographer, Johannesburg, Sky Diving, Carltonville, Birthday, Fun

Last Saturday a bunch of friends took a mini road trip to Carltonville to throw 3 boys out of a plane. Why? Last year a bunch of friends clubbed together to buy our dear friend Blake a birthday present – a Skydive (I promise we like him even though we threw him out of plane) Two of the boys decided it wasn’t fair to let Blake do this on his own so Mat and Ross decided to join him on his “high flying” adventure. I wanted to go up with them but I decided to let the Top Gun Trio go up and I stayed on land and take some...

Personal – Christmas Day | Johannesburg

Christmas Day Table decor, old books, vintage, earth, rustic, white tablecloth, family, photo

Finally, a Christmas in our own house! It’s only taken 5 years. We hosted the Dold’s and Joyce’s (those in the country) for a big Christmas lunch at Sun Valley Lodge. It was so nice to set up the tree, see all the pressies underneath and then get going in the kitchen. I prepared the gammon while Ross attempted the Turken (a turducken minus the duck) which worked out pretty well on the Weber, if you ignore the presentation! The rain (again) tried its hardest to spoil the day, but it could not put a dampener on the festivities. We made short work of the pile of gifts under the...

Event – Suvashnas’ Mendhi | Parktown

Hands, Henna, Pattern, Mendhi Night, Hindu, photographer, Photo, Sari, Henna, Johannesburg

I have been looking forward to this weekend ever since Suvashna and Deepak asked me to capture their wedding. Last night was the start of the celebrations. It was Suvashnas Mendhi held at her mothers house in Parktown. Even though it was pouring with rain – it was an incredibly special night. All the ladies and special family came out in their beautiful colourful, vibrant sari’s to celebrate this joyous occasion with Suvashna and her family. They hired a lady to do her Mendhi/ Henna – it was incredible to see how talented this woman was at applying the paste in such intricate patterns. I was jealous that I couldn’t...

Event – Whiskey Live 2012 | Sandton

Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg Event Photographer, Photo, Whiskey, Bagpipes, South Africa

Jeanette asked me to come help her at The Whiskey Live event held at the Sandton Convention center. I jumped at the chance to go and experience the vibe, feel and taste of the Whiskey festival. They opened the night with the bagpipes – very appropriate for the Scottish music to fill the air at the festival. It was amazing to see what was on offer. They had lots of whiskey tasting stands as well as talks on how to taste Whiskey, how to make cocktails with Whiskey in them, how to make food to accompany certain Whiskeys, all in all pretty impressive. I would definitely recommend going to visit tonight if...
