Family – Tinky Turns One

One of the many reasons I love my job so much is that some clients become friends and welcome you into their family with open arms. This little princess I have known since she was still in Larissa’s tummy 🙂 I met her when she was a few days old and again before she had her cut off and now I was able to capture her first birthday party at home. What a blessing. Tinky you are the most beautiful little girl who is a ray of sunshine 🙂...

Family – The Dogs | Bordeaux

When we bought Jozi home we really wanted her to be a “good” dog – I didn’t want the stress of having a naughty dog digging holes and chewing everything in site. After two days of bringing her home we went to Margie’s Dog school for training and we have been going every week since. Margie is the most magical lady who has a true passion for dogs and for training their owners. Thanks to her guidance Jozi is such a well behaved little dog (a few holes get dug here and there and a few items chewed but she can sit, stay, go down, wait, fetch and many more....

Nguni Cow, Meadow, Field, Midlands, Photo, Event, Lifestyle, photographer

Our last day in the Midlands. I love these cows – I think they are Nguni cows but I am not 100% sure. Today is the last day of my 365 (+1) project – I am really glad I did this project – wasn’t as easy as I thought to be honest. In the beginning I was very good at putting up a picture every single day however I ran out of time and often did a week at a time – so the next time I do a 365 I will try my hardest to make sure I put the picture up everyday. In 2013 I will be doing...

Nelson Mandela Capture Site, Kwazulu Natal, Monument, Things to do, Midlands, Photo, Event, Travel, Photographer

We borrowed a brochure of things to do in the Midlands from the owner of our accommodation and on the cover was a very impressive monument of Nelson Mandela. When I read up on it I discovered that it was jut down the road from where we are staying. This monument is on the road where Nelson Mandela was eventually captured and then subsequently sent to Robbin Island. He was posing as a chauffeur to try avoid being captured after being on the run for 18 months. This monument/ statue is amazing – it is a series of metal poles that are placed at different depths. You can only see the face of Mandela...

Today marks the start of our little holiday together. We are starting off with a 3 day trip to the Midlands for a friends wedding. It sounds silly but one of my favourite things is driving with Ross anywhere. Just us two – we talk, we laugh, we sing at the top of our voices and its a form of quality time together – it is funny how 5 hours is not that long when I am with him. We found this lovely accommodation called Twin Pools Accommodation in the area known as Balgowen. They have beautiful little rooms with a kitchenette and patio to look at the view. (Life in Africa is amazing)...

Today we went and played tennis with my sister in laws extended family. I tried my hardest to play but my silly illness got in the way and I was struggling after 3 points so I decided to help baby sit these two cute little girls while everyone else played tennis. I had to get my camera out and capture these two gorgeous little girls playing on the swings....

Christmas Mince pies, food photography, johannesburg, recipe, photo, international, magazine

I love baking and decided to make mince pies for Christmas. In our family you open presents on Christmas morning and eat mince pies and drink coffee. I didn’t have a recipe – I found a Nigel Slater recipe and it was so easy to make these mince pies. Give it a try 🙂  ...
