Red City Bus

On Saturday morning I joined the Cameraland team and a whole bunch of incredibly talented people on the Red City Bus tour sponsored by Cape Town. What a joy, riding on an open bus on the perfect summers morning through beautiful Cape Town. Cameraland arranged this event for their loyal Canon customers and influencers. I have always used Canon and I love them. We all met at the Cameraland store (opposite the Red City Bust) where I met some incredibly inspirational people who were joining the adventure. As the quote says – it’s not about the destination it’s about the journey. The scenery spotted from the rooftop of the bus...

Travel – Brand South Africa | RSA

I was commissioned by Brand South Africa to help develop their stock library of images. What an honour it was to capture aspects of South Africa that I had not considered before e.g. Construction and Labour to name a few. It was an incredible opportunity and I had a great time exploring Johannesburg to help represent South Africa. I am a true patriotic person who ADORES South Africa so this project was very close to my heart. Here are a few images from the library....

Event – Art Walk | Maboneng

Freddy Sam van Riebeek Grafitti

I love social media – you come across some amazing and interesting things that you may never have known existed until then. The Area 3 – Adidas Art Walk was one of those things that through a picture on twitter I found. Every Sunday at 2:30pm there is a FREE (yes FREE) art walk tour through the Maboneng area showing you all the incredible art works that have been commissioned/offered by international artists. I love Maboneng and have been there fairly often, however this tour opened my eyes to so many more artworks that I had no idea existed. There were so many – a true outside art gallery. The...

Travel – Satara | Kruger Park

Herd of Buffalo

A bucket list is a funny concept – I often wonder how many times people really go out of their way to cross things off their buckets lists instead of just adding things onto it continuously. This holiday was something my grandfather had on his bucket list – his whole family in the Kruger Park. When I mean the whole family there were cousins from Australia and family from Scotland and relatives from Cape Town. The last time I saw two of my cousins was when I was 10 – so this holiday I had time to rekindle and reform a special friendship with 2 very special people who are...

Travel – Steam Train | Cullinan

Travel, Things to do, Gauteng, Free Lance, Photographer, Photo, Exploring

A few weeks ago on a cold winter morning we pulled into the Pretoria train station to see a thick black cloud billowing out of a beautiful old steam train that looks as shiny and new as it did way back when. The team have restored this train to its former glory equipped with green leather seats, copper finishes and wooden window frames. The tin coffee container filled with hot comforting liquid to fuel the bodies of the men shoveling in the coal, all in all a blast into history. In celebration of my father in laws 60th my sister in law spoilt the family by taking us all on...

Travel – 2nd Anniversary | Paternoster

Paternoster, Western Cape, South Africa, Things to do, Photo, Photographer, Beach

This year Ross and I celebrated TWO years of marriage. 3 years when we were deciding on when we should get married we chose the 1st of May as it was/is a public holiday (so we could have the day off 🙂 ). Last year we explored Mpumalanga, click here to see our adventure. This year we went to the beautiful little coastal town of Paternoster. A few years ago while staying in Cape Town we took a mini road trip to have lunch there and I just fell in love with this town. All the houses are white with blue accents, I felt like I was living in a Mediterranean coastal village. When...

Travel – Arts on Main | Maboneng District

Things to do in Jhb, Jozi, Lifestyle, Event, Market, photographer, Photo

Ross and I received an amazing book for our 1st wedding anniversary from his parents called Johannesburg Spaces and Places. It is such a lovely book telling you where all the restaurants, markets etc are and things to do in Jozi. I love it. We are trying to work our way through the book and explore our city. 2 Weeks ago we went to Arts on Main in the Maboneng Precinct. I LOVE markets – they are my soul food. There is nothing I like more than drinking hot coffee while walking around tasting and buying home made delicious food. The Maboneng precint has been revamped and it is full...

Travel – Mozambique Location Shoot

South African Destination Photographer, Mozambique Destination Photographer, South African Location Photographer, Lodge Photographer, Things to do in Mozambique, Accomodation Mozambique, Sea View

A week ago I spent some time in Nacala, Mozambique, as my husband is working there on an Engineering project. Through word of mouth, Kwalala Lodge (a diving resort) requested my services in photographing their facilities. I was so excited. It is a beautiful location set north of town on the beautiful Nacala Bay. The sparkling blue ocean and vivid green palm trees are the perfect recipe for paradise. It is always lovely and warm, often with a cool breeze to keep you happy. Ideal! The stone lodges are luxurious and comfortable – a home away from home. The beach is crystal clear with unbelievable snorkelling and diving right on their doorstep....
